Caitlin Cherry: “Etherpaint” was a solo show held at The Anderson Gallery at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018. The exhibition identity reflects a body of work featuring striking and constantly shifting colors across distorted, solarized depictions of the female form. These image distortions speak to the overexposure and commodification of black female bodies in popular culture, music, and pornography.
