RVA Eviction Lab
Brand Identity, Publication Design
2019
Richmond has the second highest eviction rate in the country, 11 percent annually from 2000 to 2016. The RVA Eviction Lab, housed at Virginia Commonwealth University within in the Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs, focuses on meeting eviction data and research needs and supporting the work of local government, community-based organizations, elected officials, and other advocates. Working with Eviction Lab co-directors Kathryn Howell and Ben Teresa, I designed an identity for the organization that represented key aspects of their work. A visual motif of stacking cubes references quantitative and qualitative data analysis, but also serves as a reminder of the physical reality of eviction.
