is a graphic designer whose research-based, typographic-driven practice explores the interplay of language, systems, and image making across print, digital, and spatial media. In addition to his work on global brands, he has designed custom typefaces for clients including Mighty Dream/Pharrell Williams, UPS, and The Martin Agency. He also collaborates with individuals and institutions across the fields of art, culture, architecture, and education, and has taught classes, lectured, and led workshops at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, the University of Virginia School of Architecture, the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and Appalachian State University. Brooks holds an MFA in graphic design from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BA in English from Franklin & Marshall College. He lives and works in Richmond, Virginia.
