I collaborated with the design team at Edelman to concept and create a bespoke font for Pharrell Williams' newest venture, Mighty Dream. A creative advocacy agency for and by Black and Brown communities, Mighty Dream aims to “create what's missing" in society through social action campaigns, product development, and policy change.

MD Roman is my attempt to build on the foundation of dependable, practical serif typefaces while moving the genre to a fresh, contemporary place. Hooked terminals and daring curves project passion and elegance. The result is hard-working yet refined, stable yet spirited. A special “MD Alternate" cut pulls the typeface’s discretionary, alternative glyphs to the forefront. Its diagonally-angled characters (A, M, V, W, Y) follow the slanted geometry of the Mighty Dream logomark, injecting a forward-thinking energy to the text. The added monogram “D” offers an additional fun twist.
